South Western Gymnastics Club operates at 4 locations: Cranleigh (Mon Wed Thurs), Midhurst (Tues), Ewell (Fri) and Bookham (Tues), incorporating a Trampolining Club on a Wednesday at Cranleigh. We are a recreational club offering gym and Trampolining to children aged between 4 and 16 who would like to train between 45 minutes and 2 and a half hours a week.
HISTORY - South Western, now solely running in the Surrey and Sussex area, was founded in South West London in 1982. The Gale family have managed South Western since 1994. The Friday evening club in Ewell is locally known as Acorn Gymnastics Club (Friday nights in Ewell) and has been run by the Gales, in the Epsom and Ewell area, since 1987.
South Western Gymnastics Club is a General Recreational Gymnastics and Trampolining Club that exists to promote the sport of Gymnastics in its local community. The club is open to children of all ages, gender, ethnic background and physical ability.
The Club is a member of the British Gymnastic Association, is affiliated to British Gymnastics Regional organisations and adheres to all the policies of British Gymnastics. E.g. Equal Opportunities and Child Protection. Through the national body the club uses the British Gymnastics Trampolining and Gymnastics awards schemes to record and reward achievement.
The club also encourages gymnasts to undertake additional training to partake in Regional Competitions. Outstanding and potential Elite gymnasts will be referred to clubs with Elite squads when outstanding potential talent is identified.
Although we are a recreational club operating primarily to increase childrens general physical ability and confidence in a fun and safe environment, we regularly compete in local competitions (Usually held at the Guildford Spectrum). We have had massive success in coaching children to an ability to compete at a top recreational level and offer ALL our children the chance to compete.
